VINEYARD: “Palo Alto”- southern exposure
GRAPES USED: Pinot Nero
PRODUCTION METHOD: Produced only in the best vintages. The Pinot Nero grown on Monferrato hills asks for hand- harvest of perfectly ripe grapes. The whole bunches are pressed right away, and the natural clarification of the must is followed by fermentation in thermo-controlled stainless steel vats, as well as by a careful délestage. After its natural clarification, the wine rests in French oak barrels for 12 months. A further refinement in bottle for more than two years improves the great finesse of this wine.
COLOUR: Intense and lively ruby red, with slight violet tinges.
BOUQUET: Intriguingly, complex, recalling typical Pinot Nero varietal flavours of hints of violet, cinnamon, blackberry, and ripe red fruit finish
FLAVOUR: Round, full-bodied, austere, rich in soft tannins, flower, and fruit, velvety and elegant. The wide range of taste sensations and the long finish recalls Monferrato’s terroir.
